Melissa Ross

Town Planner

Melissa holds a Bachelor of Urban Development – Urban and Regional Planning (majors in Landscape Architecture and Design) with First Class Honours, obtained from the Queensland University of Technology. Melissa received a high distinction for her final year dissertation, which centred on planning for rural villages in the face of uncertainty, with specific focus on the township of Imbil within the Mary Valley.

In 2009 Melissa was part of a QUT student group that won the National Planning Institute of Australia Awards for Planning Excellence for an Urban Design project involving a proposed Masterplan for the Brisbane Airport. In the same year she received a Certificate of Merit in the QLD Planning Institute of Australia Awards for Planning Excellence for a Community Planning Project in response to the ULDA’s Fitzgibbon Urban Development Area.

Melissa joined Gassman Development Perspectives in late 2006, and since that time has been engaged in various projects requiring comprehensive knowledge of planning processes and project management. Melissa’s background in landscape design allows for a dual disciplinary approach to planning and design, which transcribe into more creative outcomes for each project. Melissa is a member of the Planning Institute of Australia.
