Town Planner

Dean attained a Bachelor of Regional and Town Planning with Honours from the University of Queensland in 2007, and is a member of the Planning Institute of Australia. He received a distinction for his final year thesis, which investigated how local authorities in South-East Queensland will meet regional housing targets.

He has been part of a research team developing a process to better inform regional housing targets for South-East Queensland, termed the Urban Housing Capacity Template. The team was later tasked to apply the template as part of the Brisbane City Council Neighbourhood Planning project.

He joined Gassman Development Perspectives as a Student Town Planner in early 2005, and has since been introduced to a number of real world planning projects.

His primary tasks include the preparation of advice for clients, the submittal and management of development applications to Council, and the completion of strategic development reporting.
